Democratic Republic of Congo Refugee Family Support
Sister Mary Lange is now working with a family from the Democratic Republic of the Congo [DRC].
Presently, Sister Mary Lange is working in collaboration with three churches in our area in supporting a family who met and married in a refugee camp in Uganda and where their six children were born. Lack of English and education are major issues.Stephen Green, one of our Associates, was a missionary in Tanzania and speaks Swahili. He has been a big help with translation and helping us understand the culture. It really takes a village to support a family adjusting to a new country and culture and who has been through so much violence and poverty in their country of origin.
Sister Mary Lange is now working with a family from the Democratic Republic of the Congo [DRC]. A father, a mother and their six children spent 10 years in a refugee camp in Uganda before being approved to come to the United States. This family had to leave their home country due to the instability and violence. They are seeking to provide for their children in a new place which, in time, will become “home.” This means learning a new language and gaining greater fluency in English for the father who was a translator. Their children now have the opportunity to go to school and to live in a peaceful place.
Thank you for your support for this ministry dedicated to helping at-risk children.
