The family moved to San Jose, California when she was 18months old. Her father was said to have walked all the way to California on the train with Mary, who was a very colicky baby. After graduating from Notre Dame, San Jose Mary entered the Sisters of the Holy Family on September 7, 1966. She then spent 10 years in day care, mostly working with two-year-olds both in California and Nevada. She then went to a parish in Utah working with the Catechumenate and Liturgy. After that it was to Hawaii for 11 years continuing her work with the Catechumenate and Liturgy. Then it was on to St. Patrick’s Seminary in Menlo Park to work as Director of Field Education for 12 years. This was followed by 6 years on the communities Leadership Team. Mary is now engaged in coordinating community prayer and liturgy.
Her favorite scripture quote is from the prophet Micah 6:8. “You have been told what is good, and what the LORD requires of you: Only to do justice and to love goodness, and to walk humbly with your God.”
