Sisters of the Holy Family
Auction Sales and Returns Policy
Having a credit card on file is a requirement for placing a bid or purchasing an item via “buy now.” The Sisters of the Holy Family can accept Visa and MasterCard credit cards only. The bidder is to make sure that his or her credit card has been accepted.
Any bid is considered as intent to purchase the item. If the bidder wins the item, the credit card used will be charged for the item purchased.
Alternatively, the item may be reserved via credit card. The bidder is to let the Sisters of the Holy Family know if he or she will be paying by check and in person. The Sisters of the Holy Family MUST have this information before the end of the Auction, or the credit card will be charged.
More than one payment method may be used for specific Auction items.
Regular bidding by Proxy is a convenient way for the bidder to bid competitively for an item without having to return to the site every time another user places a bid. The maximum amount the bidder would ultimately be willing to pay for the item is entered and the “Proxy Bid” option is checked. The Auction program then bids on the bidder’s behalf against other bidders, up to the amount entered. The Auction program will never enter a bid of more than the prior bid plus one automated increment. As the Auction continues, the bidder will be notified by email if he or she is outbid.
Straight bidding is an easy way to immediately place a bid higher than the minimum increment rather than bidding as an item picks up. The amount the bidder would like to place on an item is entered and the “Straight Bid” option is checked. The bid will be placed immediately at the amount entered. As the Auction continues, the bidder will be notified by email if outbid. Please note that not all organizations choose to make the Straight Bidding feature available.
Seven to ten days is the deadline for the Sisters of the Holy Family to receive payment.
Winning Bid Notification
Bidding winners will be notified upon the completion of the auction. We notify winning bidders using the email which was used to register the user for the Auction.
We do not notify bidders who have not won.
The bidder is responsible for the Shipping and Handling fee, which will be added to the winning bid amount. This amount may be charged separately from the winning bid.
Items will be shipped via UPS or USPS and billed at standard industry rates.
Items that are sold “as is” cannot be returned by a winning bidder.
Items will be inspected before refund is issued and must be the same items and in the same condition they were shipped.
Refunds will be given in the manner the original payment was made. (By credit card payment, the return will go to the credit card; a check payment will be by check.)
A refund must be requested within four weeks, and items are to be returned within five weeks.
The refund will be issued for the winning bid only; not shipping and handling fees. The bidder is responsible for return shipping costs.
