The privacy of your personal information is very important to us. As such, the Sisters of the Holy Family (SHF or http://www.holyfamilysisters.org) present this statement to give our users a clear understanding of how we operate our Web site and how we handle personal information. If there are any questions or concerns relating to privacy or security, please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Sisters of the Holy Family may modify this statement at any time and if we do, we will notify our users that we have done so.
What Information We Collect
When a user visits and navigates the Web site of the Sisters of the Holy Family, personal information will not be collected unless the information is provided voluntarily. By "personal information" SHF means data that is unique to an individual, such as a name, address, email address, telephone number, or credit card related information.
“Cookies” are pieces of data stored by a Web site on the hard drive of an individual’s computer. Cookies are an industry standard and used by most major Web sites to improve their services.
Cookies also may be used by the Sisters of the Holy Family on an aggregate basis to track site navigation. This information is not traceable to an individual user.
The ability to accept or decline cookies can be made by modifying the settings in the web browser. For more information on how to manage cookies in the web browser, see http://www.aboutcookies.org.
Further information on turning off the cookie feature may be found in the browser "Help" section. If cookies are turned off, all areas of the Sisters of the Holy Family’s site may still be accessed. However, it may be necessary to "refuse" a cookie each time one is encountered while searching the site.
An Internet Protocol (IP) address is a number that is automatically assigned to the computer by the Internet service provider whenever access is made to the Internet. This number may be the same each time the Internet is accessed, or it may change. Like other Internet sites, the Sisters of the Holy Family use IP addresses to collect aggregate information about numbers of visitors and site usage. The address is logged on to the server of the Sisters of the Holy Family when the user’s computer requests information from our Web site, holyfamilysisters.org; however, to allow users to access our site anonymously, the user’s IP address is not linked with personal information. The Sisters of the Holy Family reserve the right, in rare instances, to use IP addresses to identify individuals who threaten our site, service or our other users.
Surveys and Polls
If a user responds to any surveys or polls on our site, the user may be asked for demographic information, such as gender or age. This information is collected only as anonymous, aggregated information and is used for statistical purposes. Otherwise, the Sisters of the Holy Family do not collect or store personal responses.
The sites and services of the Sisters of the Holy Family are not directed to persons under 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. If a parent or guardian becomes aware that his or her child has provided us with personal information without such parent or guardian's consent, he or she should contact us. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, the Sisters of the Holy Family will delete such information from their files.
