An information day was held on June 20, 2009, which was co-sponsored by the Sisters of the Holy Family and Dominican Sisters of MSJ.

There were also more than 25 additional sponsors. It was a great success and aproximately 200 people attended the day long intensive schedule for the day.

Speakers included:

  • Yulanda Kwong, M.S.W., Social Service Department Director of "Donaldina Cameron House" in San Francisco and representing the "Asian Anti-Trafficking Collaborative" (API Legal Outreach, Asian Women's Shelter, Cameron House, and Narika);
  • Lauren C. Wood and Karen Greene, Special Agents with the FBI;
  • Pat Atkins with "Made by Survivors" in San Francisco;
  • Mark Wexler, Managing Director of Not for Sale located in San Francisco; and
  • Nola Brantley, Executive Director of MISSSEY [Motivating, Inspiring, Supporting, & Serving Sexually Exploited Youth] located in Oakland.

Items were available for purchase from:

  • The Emancipation Network: Items Made by Survivors.
  • ECPAT-USA had "TassaTags" assisting travelers to be a voice against child sex tourism.
